Happy Birthday Berkley!

Today was our friend Berkley's 4th birthday! She made us cupcakes to celebrate today! They were pink with a hello kitty on them! The kids absolutely loved them! Thank you Berkley and we hope you had a great birthday!

Homemade Applesauce!

Yesterday we made homemade applesauce!! What a fun cooking activity for the preschool! And it made the classroom smell fantastic too! First we had to take the skin off our apples by using the apple peeler. We had to be super careful with this step and the kids did great! We then had to break our apple into small pieces and put them in the crockpot. 

We then had to put in brown sugar, vanilla, water, and cinnamon. We had to work on being patient because it took about 6 hours to cook the apples to make it in to applesauce. 

Most of the kids loved it, but there were a few who did not as well. We just made sure everyone had tried it before being done. 

We will definitely being doing another cooking activity soon!

A big thank you to everyone who brought in apples for this activity! Also, to Beau and Berkley who brought in apples from their trees at home! It was delicious!

What is Inside a Cattail?

What is inside a cattail? That was the question we asked the kids when we brought back the cattail from the lake. We had a lot of different ideas and they were very amazed to find what was inside! Tomorrow they will be exploring the cattail during free choice.

Sorting Activity!

During our small group today we sorted out animals in to two groups, animals that you can find at a farm and animals that you cannot find at a farm. The kids had a blast putting the pictures in the chart and figuring out where their animal goes!

Learning to Sequence

During our small groups we have been learning to sequence! The kids had a blast learning this skill!

We Went to the Lake!

After Miss Amanda's meeting on Monday, she was taught more about using nature as a teaching piece. So on Tuesday we made a trip to the lake! The kids loved taking the walk to the lake as well as exploring the lake! We listened to the different sounds and we saw different things around the lake. We caught a spider as well as 4 grasshoppers!
